Re: Touching
by pattimm
As usual, you are right on, Hank. We all need that positive touch. When I say good-bye to a new acuaintence where all others are hugging, but I get the handshake because I am 'new'; I give a hug instead. I tell them that old widows need hugs. We don't get enough. I touch friends & co-workers on the hand or shoulder too. I do not touch a strange child even in the presence of parents.....hmm? When rendering emergecy aid, we are taught to ask permission before touching the conscious victim. The security guard asks my permission to 'pat-me-down' when I set off the alarm at the airport. What a sign of the times. Touch your children, grown & young. Touch your Village kids when you can. Touch me if you see me. We need to touch and be touched. Thank you again for your timely insight. Happy Thanksgiving. ...with loving friendship, patti
